Would SLT also provide Data validation before creating entries in destination table?

Hi,

I'm looking at implementing SLT scenario b/w SAP and SAP system.

I would like to know if SLT would also offer Data validation apart from Data transformation (i.e. filtering and conversion) before it creates/updates entries at the destination system. The data validations I'm looking for are like the one's which are provided in ALE IDOC interfacing defined in Inbound partner profiles function modules.

Also if someone has already implemented SLT to replace the IDOC interfacing, could you share the opportunities, drawbacks and difficulties in doing so.
