SLT Replication Issue

Hello,

I have ECC system as source system and SLT server. I am using 1:N configuration as my DMIS is on 2011_731 SP06.

After initial load of tables DD02L, DD02T and DD08L, i started replication of other tables.

I had total 120 tables to be replicated.

Initially I was loading 10 tables which went successful.

But after that I started replication for 25 tables which remained in state "SCHEDULED" since one day.

Also when I check in SLT system background work process are free but still no SM37 job running for data transfer.

I checked RS_ORDER which does not have any tables.

In RS_STATUS these tables are present and marked as R.

When I check application logs I found errors like:

Access plan 00001 of migration object Z_RSEG_150 does not exist

Access plan 00001 of migration object Z_S001_150 does not exist

I tried stopping and restarting the SLT master job but still issue not resolving.

Can you please provide help.

Also for table RS_STATUS , under the column STATUS what is the meaning of: O, P, X and other?

Regards,

Saurabh

Remove Tables DD02L/T and DD08L

Hi all,

We have the SLT server in place to replicate/load data from 15 ECC located across the world into our Hana database to enable central reporting. For a few ECC systems we use the CO-PA Sidecar option so for those systems we use real time replication but the other systems only use a schedule once a day to load delta's into Hana.

A few systems located in Asia are relating on old hardware for the development and acceptance systems and they have a very poor line connection between Hana and their ECC system. For that reason we decided to only load data into Hana once and reload the data if a refresh is needed. However, as soon as you create an SLT replication configuration it automatically replicates the tables 'DD02L, DD02T and DD08L'. We do not use the data provisioning of the Hana studio but add the tables to be loaded/replicated manually through transaction LTRC. So we do not need an overview of the tables which exists on the ECC side.

Is it supported (are problems expected) to simply delete the replication of the DD02L, DD02T and DD08L tables of the configuration? Reason is that for all objects which are in replication the system will perform a lot of checks on the ECC side to see for example if the trigger is still there. Normally this shouldn't give issues but due to the very slow connection these RFC calls take up quiet some time. Since we don't replicate any data on development and acceptance it only is checking the triggers for these standard tables which we would love to remove form the list if it doesn't give any side effect.

Does anyone know if there would be any negative side effect (besides an not up-to-date table view in the Hana studio provisioning) when we simply remove the replicated DD02L, DD02T and DD08L tables from the configuration (we could even re-add them as a loaded object)?

Changing read type from 3 to 4

Hi folks,

I'm following Tobias blog here;

How To filter on the initial load & parallelize replication DMIS 2011 SP06 or higher

I'm stuck on changing BSEG from type 3 load to type 4.  If I have yet to start replication for BSEG it does not exist yet for me to change from type 3 load to type 4.  If I start replication and then try to change immediately to type 4 my filters are ignored and it loads ALL data.  I tried different things like pausing replication immediately after I start the job or stopping jobs, changing read type and then restarting and nothing is working.  How can I change to type 4 prior to init job?

I'm on DMIS 2011 SPS8.

Thanks,

-Patrick

Dear Experts,

We're trying to setup SLT Configuration from ERP system (Replication server) to HANA Database. During configuration in transaction LTR of Replication server, I am getting error "Register Configuration failed for Mass Transfer ID and Schema" when i click on "Create configuration" in "Review and Create" step.

For more information, please refer the error screenshot in attachment.

Any ideas, please?

Detect finishing of replication process

$

Hello,

i intend to use a HANA instance as HANA-based accelerator to accelerate some time-costly db reading transactions, using a secondary db connect.

I'm examining the SAP LT Replication Server for real-time data replication to HANA, for having my whole process of read and update data untouched, but transform the costly selection statements to use a secondary db connection.

While playing around, i noticed that the replication process isn't handled in real-time, and subsequent reading transactions operate on the non-replicated data set.

In my use case, this is a crucial problem.

Is there an appliance to monitor the replication process, so I can detect the finishing of the process? Is there a signal that flags the finishing of the replication process?

Have you any other approach to disrupt and continue my transaction sequence, to assure to operate on the most actual data?

Thanks, Stephan

SLT installation on SolMan 7.1 server

Hi SCN,

I'm currently looking into the possibility of installing the SAP LT Replication server 2.0 (DMIS_2011) onto our SolMan 7.1 system.

The underneath was listed in the prerequisites section of the installation guide:

"The system running the SAP LT Replication Server must be an ABAP system with at least SAP NetWeaver 7.02 (Basis support package 8), with an ABAP stack using SAP Kernel 7.20 (64BIT Unicode) patch level 110 or higher."

Our server:

  • SAP_BASIS, Release 702, Level 8
    • OK
  • ABAP stack
    • OK
  • SAP Kernel 720, Patch level 107 and x86 is present in the Compilation (see kernel.jpg in attachments)
    • NOT OK, since 64BIT and patch level 110 was needed.

Is it a problem that the Kernel is x86 and not x64 and can it somehow be changed?

If the Kernel cannot be changed, is installing another DMIS version an option?

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

LTRC transaction options

Hi

I am new to SLT and trying to understand the options available. I have access to ECC IDES system EHP7 and I am able to go to transaction LTRC.

I notices that the target option has lot of drop down options ( MS SQL, ORACLE and so on ) but its defaulted to HANA and I dont have a option to change this ( Grey-ed out). Am i missing any configuration ? Or IDES system donst support SLT to other Non-HANA DB ?

SLT and HANA deleting archived data

$

From the SLT Operations Guide, section 5.2 I can see the following statement

5.2 Archiving Data in Source Systems

The trigger-based replication also considers the deletion in source tables by archive activities (since it is not possible to distinguish on the database level between delete actions cause by archiving versus regular deletion of data records). As a consequence, SAP LT Replication Server will also replicate archiving activities as delete actions in the SAP HANA database.

In a typical standalone/sidecar implementation of SAP HANA, I would assume that in most cases this is not favorable behavior or a desired function. In typical DW/DataMart implementations, the data should be persisted in the target even after the source system data may have been archived. I can refer back to how BW operates in this caes - any new/changed data is extracted to BW, but any archiving operations do not affect the already extracted data in the target system.

I know there is functionality available to load archived data into HANA, but that would seem like a troublsome method to 'put the pieces back together' and get a wholistic picture of all the historical data (online data + archived objects) and would present some interesting challenges in the target (HANA).

Is there any way to disable the functionality to replicate deleted data due to archiving? Is there anyone with some experience navigating around this hurdle in a standalone/sidecar scenario that can shed some light as to how they handled this?

Thanks,

Justin

How to use SAP LT for targeting a non-HANA System

$

Hi There,

we want to create an application that replicating the SAP Data Source to another 3rd Party Database. As we stumbled upon the technology that introduced in the SAP LT Replication Server, we really keen to try this. However, we can't find a documentation regarding this issues. Is there a possibility to use the SLT to replicate data from SAP and targeting into another DB-System (non-Hana) ?

The question comes up, because the interface for accessing other Non-SAP Source is basically already there (however it is intended to load the data), so theoritically we can use the same interface to transfer the delta data with event based triggered.

Does anyone have an experience on this case ? It would be nice, if you can suggest a better approaches.

Thanks

Loaded tables in LTRC not replicating with new data in HANA DB

$

Dear Experts,

By mistake, i pressed the "Delete" button for the SLT configuration which was working fine with Replication. And then, I cancelled it after sometime. I see that, in LTR, the configuration status changed from green to red (configuration check has detected critical issues). I am not able to find these critical issues. Any idea on this?

In LTR, I also tried to start replication once again for these loaded tables, i get the information that the table scheduled with start replication. But actually, it is not at all starting and I am not able to load new data in HANA DB due to this issue.

What would be the optimal solution? I don't want to delete the configuraiton and create once again new one?

Coud you please share your ideas?

Thanks & best regards,

Sreenu

Installation of SLT Replication Server: cloud or local

$

Hi all,

I just began to work with SAP HANA and would like set up a test system for data replication into the HANA DB. My idea was to

- use one of my two existing cloud-based HANA instances (AWS and Azure) as target system

- use existing MS SQL Server as source system

- install an SLT Server locally or in one of the two clouds.

I have some questions and I'm lost in Google...

1) Is it possible (and practicable) to install an SLT Server on my Windows 8.1 PC or on a (cloud-based or local) virtual machine?

2) If yes, what do I have to do for that? Install Netweaver 7.02+ and DMIS 11.0? Anything else?

3) Are there test versions/developer versions for it?

Best regards

Florian

Replication error after backup offline of source system

$

Hi,

we have configured an SLT server with DMIS ad-on on SAP Netweaver 7.4 and we have created a configuration to replicate data from an SAP ERP 605 to HANA; all is working fine.

We have created replica from some ERP tables to HANA (from HANA data provisioning tables are in Replicate status; triggers are green).

Last patches of DMIS add-on have been applied in source and SLT system.

During the night the source system is stopped for backup offline and it is started after 4-5 hours (this is downtime for quality SAP system. The downtime for production is about an hour); SLT server is always online.

If we use Data Provisioning or LTR transaction to check the status of trigger tables in the morning, all seems working fine.

If we try to add another table in replica, the status of all other tables (sometimes all, sometimes many of these) is swiched in "Replication Error".

The only way to allow process to restart is to stop/start jobs from LTR transaction or LTRC.

Any suggestions ?

Do you know if there is a way to suspend replication (before backup offline of source) and reactivate automatically (immediately after of the end of backup of source system) ?

Hello Gang,

I have a puzzler. I need to add the T005 and T005T (Country and Country Text)  tables to SLT replicator from our CRM system. The tables do not appear on the list of replicated tables, but they no longer appear on the list of tables available to be replicated.

Any suggestions?

Dear folks,

I am not able to see 2 tabs table structure and mapping in LTRS tcode...what might  be the reason ? Implemented respective notes and our version is SLT 2.0 with DMIS2011 SP08.

And again when we create configuration in SLT will it be created logging tables (DD02L,DD02T,DDO8L) in SLT will be visible when the target connection is RFC (ECC to Simple finance replication).

Thank you in advance..
