SLT deployment : From Dev To Prd

$

hi experts,

I've completed the whole process of loading data from ECC  to HANA using SLT.

And I've loaded several tables successfully.

But now I have a problem, that's when we want to deploy what we've done on the Dev system to Prd system, what should we do?

my personal thought is we should package the SLT configuration in LTRC, table structure and transformation rules and performance options in LTRS.

But I'm not sure as something must be missing.

So anyone would like to share about this? or Is there any document to show the whole process step by step?

thank you for your any input!

Non SAP Target system: trigger configuration

$

Hi all,

I am trying to find a relevant documentation on the trigger options explanation in t-code LTRS and I can't (almost like always) find any good explanation on how this can be configured.

My landscapte/Architecture:

SAP SLT Server replicating a SAP ECC System to a SQL Server Database system.

My need: replicate CDPOS on a very restricted dataset

I know how to initialize the replication with the filter I need, but I want then to create a trigger with some options.

Can someone explain how the "Trigger options" for a given table can be configured? I cannot find anything on this topic in any document...

Thanks.

Cyril.

Issues in the SLT configuration

Hello Experts,

We have created the SLT configuration. The configuration is red in status. There are 2 errors and a warning in the configuration. When we check for the errors in statistics, the message "No Latency data is available is displayed"  the  Please find the attachment and help us to solve this issue.

SLT Re-install

Hi experts,

assumption with a simplest scenario:

before the re-installation, all tables have completed the initial load ,and the status is "replication - in process". no structure changes or transformation rules.

So , what should we do after SLT re-installation?

I think as the logging tables and DB triggers are still there, we just need to create a same configuration in SLT and raise tables' replication.

But I'm not sure whether it will continue the replication before re-installation, or it will drop the target tables and create them again, which actually starts a whole new process.

Anyone would like to share knowledge or opinions about this?

SLT Sizing

Hi experts,

I'm researching SLT configuration these days as the tables replication(initial load) is hanging.

I download the SLT sizing document from service market. It has a table listing 3 scenarios, of which I want to discuss on the "MEDIUM" one.

Suppose that I have a 1:1 relationship between source and target with only 1 configuration in SLT.

sizing.png

So in the above snapshot , I have 2 problems:

1. the ellipse part is to say that we should enter 10 to the "No. of Data Transfer Jobs" when we create a configuration.

sizing 1.png

2. the first rectangle part includes the second rectangle? if we have 12 data transfer jobs, we should have 22(=12+10) dialog work processes?

LTRC : "Display before conversion" & "Display after conversion"

Hello Experts,

In MWB, there is a call to DMC_STARTER tcode which has an option to see the data in SLT before conversion & after conversion. The options in DMC_STARTER are "Display Before Conversion" & "Display After Conversion".

While trying to load data through LTRC, I couldn't find a similar provision to see the converted data as per the rules etc. Instead LTRC directly loads the data in target system. Is there any way to see the converted data before final loading it in target system ?

Any pointer would also help.

Thanks,

SLT two configurations To one same HANA schema

Hi experts,

Question again

I created a configuration named "SLT_RTQ"  between ECC and HANA ,

So it created a HANA schema SLT_RTQ.

Now I want to replicate tables from sybase ase, so I create the database connection and SLT configuration between it and HANA.

My question is if I create it with a name "SLT_SYBASE", it will create a new schema in HANA called SLT_SYBASE.

How can I replicate sybase ase tables into the same HANA schema create by the configuration between ECC and HANA?

What's the best practice about this scenario?

Thank you for you any input.

sybase ASE table disappear in LTRC

Hi experts,

a quite weird question encountered.

I raised a table replication from SYBASE ASE to HANA by "Data Provisioning" --> "Start Replication". The table listed in ""Table Overview" of LTRC,

sybase_1.png

but about 15 seconds later it disappeared.

sybase_2.png

I check the table "RS_STATUS" in HANA and find the corresponding records. the tables have primary key in SYBASE.

sybase_3.png

However, table is not created in HANA.

the DD02L and DD02T tables are ok.

Is there anything I missed during the replication?

such as the user's rights when connected to SYBASE ASE DB..

BTW, what does O mean for status in table RS_STATUS?

Filter ODP-SLT data extraction

Hi All,

Now, due to some requirement we need to extract data from KONV for ODP-SLT in quality environment. We have separate SLT box installed for data replication.  Now KONV is getting extracted for ODP-SLT scenario to BI as well as to directly on HANA DB for Operational reporting with different MT_ID. As the volume is huge, we want to extract based on filter. I have maintained the entry in DMC_ACSPL_SELECT. 1st with KONV and then with KOCLU and execute the INIT infopackagg but it’s pulling all the entry from KNOV .

Please suggest how to filter data for ODP-SLT scenario ?

Disable Delete Trigger Option in LTRS

$

Hi SLT expert, we want to use the "Disable Delete Trigger" (seems to be new) option for some of our tables due to mass deletion of records coming in a near future project. Those tables are already replicating and because the high volume of data, we want to enable this option without re-starting the replication for those tables. This option looks like new in LTRS but I want to know, if the replication is already active, how can we set it to prevent deleted record to be replicated. We are currently using ODQ replication scenario.

What are the steps required to disable the delete trigger when the replication is already enable on the table?

Unusual role Error replicating Oracle nonSAP DB

Hi,

We are trying to replicate data from a nonSAP Oracle 11g database and are getting the following error:

Failed to create triggers for table TABLE_NAME  with logging table /1CADMC/TABLENUMBER

ORA-01917: user or role '' does not exist

When looking at the error log, we see that it is trying to execute a CREATE SEQUENCE statement:

And then the connection is terminated. We tried enabling trace on Oracle's side with no luck. Any clues to what it is trying to do or how to figure it out without looking at the Oracle trace?

Thank you in advance!

Rules Assignment for Sybase Tables

$

Hi experts,

I have replicated a table "gg_color1" from sybase to HANA successfully. I can see data in HANA Studio.

Now I want to add a field "CHANGE_DATE" to the target table and give it the value SYSDATE.

First, I add table in  Table Settings in LTRS. I can find the table "gg_color1" in the list,

SYBASE_ADD_TABLE1.png

But when I click YES, it popups a message showing the table not exists in the source system.

SYBASE_ADD_TABLE2.png

Anyway , I click Yes and the table is added with its table structure. I add a new field CHANGE_DATE. Then I want to create a new event-based rule to assign value to it. But it shows ABAP code contains syntax errors.

SYBASE_RULE1.png

I check the syntax and it shows:

SYBASE_RULE2.png

then I find that the table "gg_color" does not exist in HANA DB any longer. It seems to be deleted.

I use the same way as I deal with ECC tables, but it doesn't work anyway.

So what's the process to create a rule to assign value to a new added field for a sybase table?

Thank you for your any input!

Change/rename the target table name before replicating to HANA using SLT approach

$

Hi Experts,

Would like to know is there a way that i can replicate the source tables with different table names to HANA using SLT approach?

Eg:

I've a requirement like below:

I want to replicate MARA table from ERP to HANA with table names as MARA1,MARA2 with selective fields only.

As i like to duplicate the source table into various table names in target system with the selective fields.

Can anyone provide some guideline regarding the settings that need to be done in SLT.

PS:I don't want to rename once the complete table is replicated and later renaming it  in HANA

Running the SLT Jobs with dedicated batchjobuser

$

Hello all,

i'm running SLT on DMIS SP6 and allready have all the latest correction notes implemented.

I've created a SLT_MASTER user and putted it in as Replication Server Job User in LTRC Administration Data for every Mass Transfer ID.

So from now on every Replication job is running in the context of SLT_MASTER. So far so good.

But the master job is still startet with the dialog user which is logged on and starting "all configurations".

I like to avaid the job is failing when that dialog user get locked.

How can i switch the master job to a batchjobuser?

Is the only possibility to achieve this by changing this User to dialog, give it a password, log on, stop/start all configurations?

Thanks for your help

Questions on replication from non SAP source to SAP HANA

$

Hi All,

I have a couple of questions that I hope you can help me on. We are currently replicating from MS SQL to SAP HANA using SLT. My questions are as follows:

1) Is it possible to only replicate changes to a specific column and not replicate all the columns? I know this might cause inconsistencies but just a question posed by a developer using SLT on our company. My answer is it is not possible but someone might be able to answer if it is possible.

2) When I add a column in a replicated table from the source (SQL). How do I get this change pushed to SAP HANA? Is there a way to automate that? Or do we need to manually change in SAP HANA?

Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.

I am trying to create a new configuration using LTR or LTRC.

Below is the new LTR Web Dynpro Page. Here I couldn't fine the Configuration and Monitoring Dash Board Page'.

If you observe LTRC screen page here it self, but the Create button is disabled.

even if I goto LTRC the create button is disabled.

Can anyone guide me how can I create the new configuration in this new versions.

I have role SAP_IUUC_REPL_ADMIN.
